2) Methods of color extraction:
- Boiling (Onion, Hibiscus, Nasturtium, Mexican Honeysuckle, Lemon Verbena )
- Using natural plant and insect powder (Indigo, Marigold, Cochineal)
- Direct extraction of juice (Spinach, Brazilian wood, Red Cabbage, Beetroot, Tropical Spinach, Jamaica Hibiscus, Pecan ) Plants, such as Brazilian wood, Hibiscus or Pecan, you simply put in the water and keep it till you see the colour coming out. Time form time, mix it and you see how colour gets more intense. And plants like Red cabbage, spinach and beetroot, cut in small peaces, mix it (time from time adding bit of water) well with kitchen mixer till it turns into mush. Poor it in to cotton bag and squeeze it all juice out.
